Among the many causes that BNP Paribas Real Estate supports through its sponsorship and patronage activities, medical and charitable programmes are some of the most important. Helping to contribute to building a more inclusive society, BNP Paribas Real Estate is committed to working alongside local players across Europe.
Promoting well-being and inclusive living environments
BNP Paribas Real Estate supports various organisations that work to promote health (care, medical research, and therapeutic support), better living conditions and well-being. The assistance provided by the company may be financial, material or human and echoes the values of BNP Paribas Real Estate.
Among the various charitable organisations supported each year Ascenseur is a unique collective of 20 organisations working to promote equal opportunities. Their actions aim to provide better access to education, employment and entrepreneurship for young people from working-class backgrounds and disadvantaged areas. The company is also a sponsor of the Helen Keller Europe charity which, through its PlanVue programme, aims to support children with visual impairment and reduce school dropout rates.
Focusing on inclusivity is key to BNP Paribas Real Estate’s core values and in this way Nos Quartiers ont du Talent is a valued programme for the company, helping students to find jobs and work experience. In terms of supporting higher education, the company works with the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (CIUP), and for the past 10 years has financed 10 scholarships per year for students from modest backgrounds.
BNP Paribas Real Estate is also involved in causes related to real estate. Since 2019, the company has partnered with the Qualitel foundation, who certify and evaluate housing in order to promote housing which is comfortable, healthy and safe. The Qualitel fund supports non-profit organisations that work to provide access to quality housing for the most disadvantaged populations.
Employee commitment to charitable programmes
BNP Paribas Real Estate also encourages each of its employees to support charities, through various means. By donating time, money or energy, each employee can get involved and make a contribution.
The company is a partner of Microdon, an initiative that offers micro-donation solutions, via rounding up payments, donations of salary or even donations of time. BNP Paribas Real Estate employees can choose to round up their net salary and as such donate a small percentage of their income each month. BNP Paribas Real Estate then undertakes to double the amount of the donation made by each employee. BNP Paribas Real Estate has chosen to support the charities Etoile de Martin, which fights paediatric cancer, and Habitat et Humanisme, which works to provide housing for people in difficulty, whilst helping them to integrate into society.
For employees who prefer to give their time, BNP Paribas Real Estate will soon be offering its employees the opportunity to devote volunteer hours, during their working hours, to charities that the BNP Paribas group partner with, as part of the 1 Million Hours of Solidarity programme. The aim is to reach one million hours of volunteering per year.
Indeed, since 2016, employees from across the business have been taking part in charitable races every year. These include a race dedicated to the development of people with mental health conditions, Imagine for Margo, a race that supports childhood cancer and the JP Morgan Run in Düsseldorf or B2Run in Stuttgart which German employees take part in.
Through these various actions, and thanks to the commitment of its employees, BNP Paribas Real Estate is helping to build a more inclusive and supportive city by promoting access to essential services for as many people as possible.
